🏢 IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR NSW STRATA COMMITTEE MEMBERS

From 1 October 2026, new training requirements are coming into effect for NSW strata committee members.

Under the changes, new and returning strata committee members will be required to complete free online training through NSW Fair Trading within 3 months of being appointed.

The training is designed to help committee members better understand:

✓ Their legal duties and governance responsibilities
✓ Repairs and maintenance
✓ Managing risks within their building
✓ Strata finances
✓ Resolving disputes
✓ Making informed decisions on behalf of their scheme

The introductory training is expected to take approximately 1 hour, is self-paced and will be available through the Strata Hub.

⚠️ One of the most important changes:
If a committee member does not complete the required training within the 3-month timeframe, they will automatically cease to be a member of the strata committee.

It’s exciting to see the Dairy Farmers Towers development taking shape in Newcastle’s West End.

The transformation of the iconic Dairy Farmers site is another great example of the investment and growth happening across our city.

Once complete, the development will feature 191 apartments, along with impressive resident amenities including a collaborative workspace, pool, gym, wine bar and cellar, function rooms and landscaped green spaces. Completion is currently scheduled for late 2026. (Westend Newcastle)
